Tornado causes major destruction in Franklin, TX

HOUSTON (FOX 26) – An EF-3 tornado touched down over Franklin, Texas, northwest of College Station, on Saturday afternoon, causing major damage and nearly a dozen injuries, sending two people to the hospital.
“God was here at this house, I know it for a fact,” said Franklin resident Laura Gomez. “He knew my kid and husband were home.”
High winds and heavy rain left damage behind, knocking down trees and power lines, as well as overturning cars and mobile homes.
“We’ve had substantial damage, a lot of property loss, and homes were completely destroyed,” said Chief Travis Aaron with Franklin Police Department.
More than 9,000 people were left without power. The City of Franklin remains under a Boil Water Notice
